Privacy Policy

DemandDuck respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information while connecting you with group deals. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it to match you with providers, and your rights to access, correct, or delete your data.

Effective Date: 12/17/2025

DemandDuck serves both consumers seeking group deals and providers/merchants offering services. This policy applies to all Platform users, with data practices tailored to each role for transparency and compliance.

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how DemandDuck Inc. (“DemandDuck,” “we,” “our,” “us”), a corporation incorporated in the State of Delaware, collects, uses, shares, and protects your information when you access or use our mobile applications (iOS & Android) and website (collectively, the “Platform”). We serve both consumers (who request products/services) and providers/merchants (who respond with offers) across North America and may expand globally.

DemandDuck acts as a data controller for all users but shares limited data with providers solely for deal fulfillment.

DemandDuck connects two user types with distinct data needs:

  • Consumers/End Users: We collect your details to create/join group requests and match you with providers. Providers see only essential info (name, contact, request details) needed to quote/deliver.
  • Providers/Merchants: We collect your business info, service catalog, pricing, and availability to showcase to consumer groups. You receive limited consumer data only for fulfillment and must comply with privacy laws when handling it. Providers remain independent, so review their policies separately.

All users enjoy the rights in Section 8. Providers agree not to misuse consumer data beyond service delivery.

2. Information We Collect

For Consumers:

  • Contact & Identity: First/last name, email, phone, address
  • Request Details: Products/services wanted, quantities, dates/times, notes
  • Location: If permitted (approximate/precise)
  • Payments: Via third-party processors (we don’t store cards)

For Providers/Merchants:

  • Business Info: Company name, contact details, tax ID, service catalog, pricing/availability
  • Account & Verification: Login credentials, business docs for verification
  • Communications: Messages with consumers (we may log metadata for support/dispute resolution)

All Users (Automatic):

  • Device/usage: IP, device type, OS, app activity, crash reports
  • Cookies/SDKs: For analytics and personalization

If we use third‑party analytics or advertising tools, those providers may collect information about your use of the Platform in line with their own privacy practices. You can typically control cookies through your browser settings and manage certain mobile permissions through your device settings.

3. How We Use Your Information

Consumers: Match requests with providers, form groups, facilitate payments/communications, and personalize recommendations.

Providers: Display your offers to relevant groups, verify businesses, manage payouts, and analyze demand patterns.

All Users: Operate the Platform, provide support, prevent fraud, comply with laws, and improve services via analytics. Where required by law (for example in certain jurisdictions), some of these uses may be based on your consent, our need to perform a contract with you, our legitimate interests in operating and improving the Platform, or compliance with legal obligations.

4. Sharing Your Information

a. Consumer-Provider Flows (Core Marketplace)

  • When consumers create/join requests: Providers may see anonymized demand signals (for example number interested and location trends).
  • When providers respond/accept: Consumers see provider details. Providers receive your name, contact, address, and request specifics only for fulfillment.
  • Post-deal: Communication may be routed through the Platform. We may log metadata (not content) for support/disputes.

Providers are independent. You should review their privacy policies. DemandDuck is not liable for provider practices.

b. Service Providers (All Users)

We may share information with vendors that help us run the Platform (for example analytics such as Google Analytics/Firebase, payments such as Stripe, hosting such as AWS/GCP, and fraud-prevention tools). These vendors are contractually bound to protect data.

c. Legal, Compliance, and Safety

We may disclose information when we believe it is necessary to:

  • Comply with applicable laws, regulations, legal processes, or governmental requests.
  • Enforce our terms and policies.
  • Protect the rights, property, or safety of DemandDuck, our users, Providers, or the public.

d. Business Transfers

If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, sale of assets, or similar transaction, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to any applicable legal requirements. We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties as the term “sell” is commonly understood. If applicable law treats certain sharing as a “sale” or “sharing” for targeted advertising, we will provide any required notices and choices.

5. Cookies and Similar Technologies

We may use first‑party and third‑party cookies, SDKs, and similar technologies to:

  • Keep you signed in and remember your preferences.
  • Measure traffic and usage patterns.
  • Improve features and performance.
  • In the future, support advertising or promotions, if implemented.

Where required, we will provide additional notice and obtain consent before using non‑essential cookies or similar technologies. You can manage cookies through your browser settings and manage certain permissions (such as location) in your device settings.

6. Data Security

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information, including encryption where appropriate, access controls, and monitoring for potential security incidents. While no security system is perfect, we take commercially reasonable steps to prevent unauthorized access, misuse, or loss.

7. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information, which can include the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you.
  • Request corrections to inaccurate or incomplete information.
  • Request deletion of your personal information, subject to legal or contractual obligations.

If you are a resident of certain U.S. states (such as California), you may have additional rights relating to:

  • Knowing the categories and specific pieces of personal information we collect, use, disclose, and, where applicable, “sell” or “share”.
  • Opting out of certain types of data “selling” or “sharing” for targeted advertising, if we engage in such activities.
  • Limiting the use and disclosure of certain sensitive personal information, if applicable.

You can exercise your rights or submit a request by contacting us at info@demandduck.com. We may need to verify your identity before responding, and some rights may be subject to limitations under applicable law.

You may also:

  • Opt out of marketing emails by using the unsubscribe link in those emails.
  • Adjust app permissions (such as location) in your device settings.
8. Data Retention

We retain your information only as long as reasonably necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Policy, including providing the Platform, complying with legal obligations, resolving disputes, and enforcing our agreements. Where feasible, we may anonymize or aggregate information so that it can no longer reasonably be linked to you.

9. Children’s Privacy

Our Platform is not intended for individuals under the age of 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child, we will take reasonable steps to delete it. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at info@demandduck.com.

10. International Data Transfers

DemandDuck is based in the United States, and your information may be stored and processed in the United States and other countries where our service providers are located. These locations may have data protection laws that are different from those in your jurisdiction. Where required, we implement appropriate safeguards, such as contractual protections, for cross‑border transfers to help ensure an adequate level of protection for your information.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in our practices, technologies, legal requirements, or other factors. When we make material changes, we will update the “Effective Date” at the top of this page and may provide additional notice as required by applicable law.
